That guy rocked. At Supanova this year, where the lines were even crazier than SMASH!'s (or to be fair, the Supanova lines *before* it opened were crazier than the SMASH lines at about 11 am), I thought it would have been awesome to just have a few entertainers here and there. Or just a bunch of cosplayers doing Caramelldansen/Hare Hare Yukai/whatever the dance craze of the day may be.
I was just thinking... all the above ideas are great but if you guys were seriously considering bringing the top (or like big gun) Japanese artists to Australian anime conventions, maybe start by blasting some random music. See which is more popular? I know most people would probably only react if they hear a song they know ie. anime OP/ED songs, but I was just thinking of bringing a J-pop mixed CD and just blasting it on some stereos. Not just anime songs, but J-pop music unrelated to anime.
It can help with the 2011 and onwards guest list too?
Once again, yes I know how hard it is (especially financially) to actually bring a Japanese artist but just thought I'd put it out there...
The samurai guy was awesome! I hope he comes back next year.
Anyways, we could probably also have random people dancing to Caramelldansen/Hare Hare Yukai/(insert your choice of dance here) or just some people randomly waltzing while cosplaying their OTPs...
