Post-Convention Concert
  • After the convention, there could be a concert. It would probably be the case that an extra fee would need to be paid to attend the concert (it would be possible to attend the concert without going to the convention itself). Not sure if people are keen on the idea of having to pay another $30 for the concert if they've already forked out $25 for the event itself (as an example).

  • bring it on, i would love to see that

  • I wouldn't mind that. :) That'd be great, anyway.

  • you can do a separate ticket for people who can go both concert and event so it wont be so hard on the pocket :D or you can do how Animania use to do at Townhall and have a mini music concert in the last hour (as a scheduled event). I use to pretty much moshpit my way through the last hour when they had those performances cause it felt like an actual concert, by i think 'halcion'? (sorry dont remember the name, but the singer was great in 07) :) But back then pretty much everyone was gone and it was just a small concert for people who bothered to stay to the end as well as for the volunteers who had a hard day and wanted to go crazy at the front but it was soo fun :D

  • That was Amanda Setiadi from Halcyon. And she is pretty good :)

  • dude she was awesome, I was one of the only attendees to stay back until their performance finished and I was screaming so hard :D one of the best con experiences I have ever had and never relived again :)

  • Yep, she's good. She still works on Animania! They need to put the band back together :)

  • woohoo WOW would she beable to perform at SMASH! ? they performed haruhi - god knows last time and by the end of it the drummer's arms were dead and i was still screaming encore D: I would like to actually hear them again, cause they were pretty awesome :D

  • I'm not sure. We could ask!

  • I'd love to see a concert, either as just the last hour or so or as a separate event. Obviously a multi-hour set requires more preparation from the band(s) and I'd suggest that if that were the case that the band shouldn't be anyone involved in organising the event (just because they'd be too tired, and the singer would have shouted themselves hoarse already).

An alternatively cool option would be if there were a live band supporting some of the karaoke - maybe just the finals. Again, tricky to organise, but maybe the band could do the same songs in their main set to save on having to arrange and rehearse too many.

  • guys, like i have said in a diffent topic. have yoko kanno and the seatbelts play @ smash. and if your really game, have halcyon play a suport set. if you dont have yoko kanno and the seatbelts reform just for smash, then your mad not to have them here.

  • sweet, you going to lend smash the money to bring them out?

  • Oh no MachV, Matt obviously thinks SMASH has sufficient money to fly them over. If not, then SMASH can totally bring out the ticket price rise!

  • hey, its only an idea guys

  • Hawwwwhawhawhaw!
Everything is just an idea. It just happens that all the ideas you put up are unrealistic.
If it's just an idea that you know probably won't happen anyway, don't push for it over multiple topics.

    Haw~~~

  • Er... WillDoesNotApprove... I don't suppose you happen to live in the Hills district, do you?
